What is this weird hierarchy-based search that you have come up with?

This structured search helps you discover various funds that are investing into India, split down by categories/strategies and their sub levels & ticket sizes. Given the wide range of funds & strategies, ranging from seed level investing to late stage & listed investments, it is important that there be a clear & workable classification and the India Portfolio is delivering just that.

What is the source of the data for these funds? What about data accuracy?

The primary source of data are the websites of these funds, followed by social media activity of these funds or involving these funds, industry news sites, etc. The India Portfolio strives for accuracy and completeness in data and wherever possible multiple validations have been done, however we cannot vouch for accuracy and completeness of the data, as no sources are primary.

Why are some funds in grey? What is an inactive fund?

Inactive funds are shaded grey - funds who have not invested in the last 9 months, based on lack of news or public disclosures, are classified as inactive.

What is the need for a “search by name” option?

Sometimes it can just be quicker to search by name, if you are looking for a specific fund. The India Portfolio has a large number of funds and this search by name option helps you quickly find the fund you are looking for.

How does this search by sector work?

The search by sector allows you to find funds that are investing in specific sectors. You can select a sector from a dropdown menu, and the India Portfolio will display a list of funds that have active investments in that sector.
